Total Achievement Program (TAP) is a therapeutic after-school and summer program for youth ages 6 to 12 years old, located in New Bedford, MA.

In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with our youth. You will have the opportunity to lead a small team of 4 staff to provide care to no more than 12 clients at a time in a trauma-informed, therapeutic setting. TAP staff work closely with the youths’ families, schools, and community agency providers to support each client’s success as part of a comprehensive treatment team.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $53,000 to $128,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, BA versus MA level education, licensure, certifications and qualifications.

This range may be modified in the future.

JRI provides the training so that:

  • YOU will be able to use your skills to lead staff in providing enriching daily activities for our students such as arts and crafts, homework assistance, recreational activities including offsite field trips, and more!
  • YOU will create a safe and therapeutic community by working with youth to build positive peer relationships, manage behaviors in group settings, and develop effective coping strategies.
  • YOU will lead your team, as a member of the larger team that provides group counseling, works with youth to set goals, and collaborates with youth’s support systems to develop treatment plans.
  • YOU will help youth discover what makes them feel competent and valued by supporting them in developing the social skills necessary to function at home and in the community. Your day-to-day work will support students in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Master's Degree in social work, psychology or related field preferred. BSW or BA in related field (social work, human services, psychology, sociology) with significant experience of at least 5 years working with youth with serious emotional disturbance considered for waiver if allowed.
  • Independent clinical license preferred.
  • Candidates who have experience working with latency age children or experience in behavior modification are preferred.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting youth is required.
  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth!
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
