- A leading heavy civil contractor is looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its Greater Boston field team.
- The company has a strong backlog of complex infrastructure projects throughout Massachusetts and New England, with work spanning bridges, highways, transit, utilities, marine construction, and other large-scale public infrastructure.
- This is an opportunity to join an established contractor with a long‑term pipeline of local work, strong field resources, and the ability to take on some of the region's most complex civil projects.
- The Superintendent will be responsible for leading day‑to‑day field operations on major heavy civil projects throughout Greater Boston.
- You'll oversee self‑perform crews and subcontractors, coordinate project sequencing and logistics, and work closely with project management to keep projects safe, on schedule, and within budget.
- Lead day‑to‑day field operations on complex heavy civil projects.
- Manage and coordinate self‑perform crews, foremen, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain short‑term schedules, look‑aheads, and production goals.
- Coordinate project sequencing, site logistics, deliveries, and field operations.
- Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety, quality, and productivity.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to resolve field issues.
- Coordinate with owners, inspectors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Track field progress and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications.
- Mentor foremen and field personnel while building a strong jobsite culture.
- Bridge construction and rehabilitation
- Highway and roadway construction
- MassDOT and other public infrastructure projects
- Transit and rail infrastructure
- Excavation and sitework
- Complex urban infrastructure
- Self‑perform heavy civil construction
- 7+ years of field construction experience within heavy civil construction.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or General Foreman.
- Proven experience managing complex civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Experience coordinating self‑perform crews and subcontractors.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
