Storage Customer Service Representative

Compensation Range: $15.00 to $16.00 hourly.

105 Rockdale Ave, New Bedford, Massachusetts 02740.

Job Summary

U‑Haul is seeking a friendly, motivated individual to support site operations, provide outstanding customer service, and maintain our storage facilities and equipment. The role involves interacting with customers, inspecting and preparing storage units, and ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the site manager with facility operations.
  • Answer phone inquiries from active and prospective customers.
  • Show storage units, explain rental terms, and prepare rental contracts.
  • Perform general routine property cleanup and minor repair work.
  • Ensure vacant storage units are clean, dry, secure, and available for new customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous U‑Haul education through U‑Haul University.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays.
Work Environment

The position involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or gear (masks, goggles, gloves, shields) may be required.

Physical Demands

Work requires some physical exertion, including long periods indoors and outdoors, remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted).
