• Be a creative and innovative educator that demonstrates mastery of and enthusiasm for the content and the pedagogy it requires
• Possess a demonstrated ability to teach dance using a variety of dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level
• Use positive classroom management techniques, be responsive to student diversity, enjoy working in an urban setting, and work well with colleagues, administrators, and parents
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with colleagues, administrators, and parents

• Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
• A demonstrated belief that each and every student can achieve at high levels
• A demonstrated dedication to lifelong learning, reflection, and continued personal and professional growth
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
