This position provides support and day-to-day assistance to the Assistant Principals in the administration of building security and monitoring and resolving student behavior at the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational High School. This position has access to confidential information concerning visitors, students, and employees.

Education, Training and
Experience:
High School Degree required or GED. Degree in related field, preferred. Experience working with youth in an organized setting with school safety, law enforcement, or security work experience preferred.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
Knowledge:
Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Suite, public address systems, and general office equipment. General knowledge about security procedures in a school setting.
Ability:
Ability to maintain confidential information concerning employees and students. Must demonstrate good judgment and work independently. Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with students. Ability to plan, organize and collaborate with others, ability to communicate effectively, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all school employees, students, teachers, parents, and vendors, ability to recognize school-wide priorities and work cooperatively to support their accomplishment, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deal effectively with interruptions, occasionally under time pressure, ability to operate a computer and be proficient in the use of MS Office applications and various employee and student database systems.
Skills:
Excellent customer service, organization skills and time-management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good computer skills.

This position requires the ability to operate a keyboard at an efficient speed.

Performs routine duties that are clearly defined by protocol and standard operating procedures with little supervision.

Works under the direct supervision of Assistant Principals.

Work is performed under typical office/school conditions; environment is moderately noisy.
