Reports to: Head of the Math Department and the Director of the Upper School

Classification: Exempt, full-time

Beaver Country Day School is an independent day school serving 460 students in grades 6-12, and located in Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston. Founded in 1920 and propelled by our progressive roots, our goal is to expand the nature of school. With over 40 local and national partnerships, almost daily field trips, a thriving performing and visual arts program, and a best-in-class research and design center, we are able to combine rigorous academics with real-world application, focusing on teaching content combined with experience applying it to current issues.

Full-time faculty in the Upper School teach 3 courses per trimester/term ranging from Integrated Math 2 through Calculus, serve as academic advisors, and fulfill other duties as needed as well. They engage in regular professional development within the school and through external organizations and conferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in the work of the Math Department, including innovative student-centered practices
  • Collaborate with colleagues within and across departments
  • Utilize technology to enhance instruction and student learning
  • Post resources, feedback, and assignments to the LMS in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and parents/guardians
  • Provide ongoing, timely, actionable, user-friendly feedback to students
  • Participate in and contribute to the life of the school outside of the department
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the subject area; master’s degree preferred
  • At least three years of teaching experience or relevant work preferred

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000.
