Role and Scope of Position
Supports the implementation of the Eversource Quality Control (QC) program for various construction, maintenance, meter service, leak survey, corrosion, damage prevention, LNG, and I&R activities at Eversource Gas. Ensures work and activities comply with federal, state, company construction standards, procedures, and safety rules. The QC Specialist can direct and stop work to maintain compliance and acts as an authorized company representative on job sites with decision‑making authority within their area of responsibility.
EssentialFunctions
- Ensures safe work practices are being employed according to the Company’s Health and Safety Handbook and Contractor Safety Manual.
- Ensures all work activities comply with Gas Distribution construction standards and operating procedures.
- Verifies that work is performed by qualified personnel.
- Verifies work packages have appropriate work procedures, mark‑out tickets, and mapping information.
- Monitors resources associated with the Company’s re‑dig program.
- Supports onboarding of contractor crews and verifies adherence to the Company’s Operator Qualification Plan.
- Identifies non‑compliant conditions and recommends corrective action.
- Documents inspection results accurately.
- Manages the Company’s gas quality control programs.
- Performs activities contributing to the annual gas inspection plan, including random inspections and re‑dig program activities.
- Assumes an ERP role and supports Gas or Electric during ERP or Work Continuation events as required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, related discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience: Three to five years in gas distribution, utility, or related technical experience.
Technical Knowledge &
Skills:
- Knowledge of gas construction and maintenance standards, work practices and procedures, and safety requirements.
- Experience with knowledge assessments and audits.
- Familiarity with gas business information and office automation; strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office suite and adaptable to other PC‑based software tools.
Licenses &
Certifications:
Will be expected to become Eversource Operator Qualified.

Qualifications:
Ability to work in an office and in the field, travel between MA, CT, and NH, and respond to emergency restoration assignments. Must comply with safety‑sensitive drug‑testing requirements.
Work includes field audits, training, and problem resolution. Requires frequent sitting, talking, and hearing; occasional walking, hand use, and reaching. Must lift or move up to 15 pounds. Adequate vision for close tasks. Exposure to explosive gas, high‑noise levels, traffic, and construction site hazards may occur. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.
CompensationAnnual salary range: $95,600.00 – $. Eligible for a potential incentive.
