Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer
Location - Bristol
You will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering team, working on multidisciplinary projects. You will provide technical guidance to other engineers, collaborate with building physicists, sustainability consultants, energy and carbon consultants, and BIM modelers. Your work will help shape projects towards a net zero carbon future.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary design teams and external sub-consultants.
- Ensure technical quality and consistency across all projects.
- Lead project management activities, including financial performance, fee negotiations, and commercial discussions with clients.
- Oversee project delivery, manage teams, delegate effectively, and report to the Project Director.
- Support and develop engineering staff, ensuring design quality, resource planning, and mentoring.
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives, improving efficiency through automation and integrated digital design.
- Degree qualified in Electrical, Building Services or Architectural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IET or CIBSE.
- Extensive experience of winning and delivering a range of projects.
- Strong awareness of sector‑specific legislation, regulatory requirements and design guidance.
- Knowledge and interest in sustainable building design in terms of energy, carbon and regulatory requirements.
