Stationary Engineer, 2nd Class
Direct Hire | New Bedford, MA
Manpower is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in New Bedford, MA to recruit a Stationary Engineer, 2nd Class for a direct hire opportunity. This critical position serves as the engineer in charge of boiler plant operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of high-pressure boiler systems and related equipment.

What You'll Do
As the Stationary Engineer, 2nd Class, you will be responsible for overseeing daily boiler plant operations and ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the engineer in charge for high-pressure boiler systems and associated equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and all applicable safety regulations.
  • Monitor boiler plant performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs of boilers and related systems.
  • Investigate and address operational, maintenance, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and inspectors.
  • Ensure compliance with Massachusetts laws, industry standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with facility leadership regarding plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and operational excellence throughout the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Massachusetts 2nd Class Engineer License required
    .
  • 5+ years of experience in boiler and steam plant operations.
  • Strong understanding of high-pressure boiler systems, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilities management and HVAC system knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and work independently.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
