Novastone Partners LLC is an advisory firm specializing in managing Fund of Search Funds. The company institutionalizes the asset class of search funds by serving as the primary point of contact for its limited partners.

Role

We are seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Senior Associate, Portfolio Management in the United States & Canada. This role is pivotal to the success of Novastone Capital Advisors and Novastone Partners, as it involves maximizing value by actively participating in the strategic decision-making processes of NCA’s portfolio companies and closely monitoring their performance throughout the investment lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Value Creation & Strategic Guidance:
    Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic growth and value creation plans.
  • Act as a ‘sparring partner’ for CEOs in building and executing value creation plans and potential exit strategies.
  • Oversee fund operations, aligning processes with investment strategy.
  • Provide strategic insights and guidance to ensure the alignment of company goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Explore and implement joint value-creation initiatives between NCA portfolio companies.
  • Serve on the Board of Directors of NCA selected portfolio companies.
  • Streamline operations and enhance reporting/tech infrastructure.
  • Lead capital-raising efforts, cultivating investor relationships.
  • Track financial metrics, operational performance, and overall business health of portfolio companies.
  • Identify and manage potential risks by assessing market conditions, industry trends, and challenges that could impact performance.
  • Ensure portfolio companies are on track to meet their goals and deliver expected returns for investors. Monitor fund performance and resource allocation.
  • Introduce applicable governance standards and compliance procedures across the portfolio companies' boards to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and strong risk management.
Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance Economics, or related field.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to track and analyze financial and operational performance metrics.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in a senior management position or as an operator of a company.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with CEOs and other senior executives.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in portfolio management and/or M&A processes of mid cap companies, working at Private Equity, family offices, Investment Banks, or Consulting companies.
  • MBA or other advanced degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of working with international companies and managing cross-border investments.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and related experience.
