Role Overview
Rockland Trust is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to join its Information Technology team in support of critical enterprise systems and operations. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and executing file transfer processes, managing and resolving IT incidents/problems, supporting disaster recovery initiatives, and coordinating and monitoring backup.
What You Will Do- Configure, manage, and monitor Managed File Transfer (MFT) processes
- Administer and monitor enterprise job scheduling tools
- Facilitate incident management
- Coordinate disaster recovery activities
- Monitor and maintain backup processes
- Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues
- Develop operational documentation
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in IT operations, demonstrate a proactive and methodical approach to problem‑solving, and exhibit the ability to effectively document processes and monitor system performance. This position requires the capacity to function within a 24/7 operational environment and includes participation in a rotational on‑call schedule.
Requirements- Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT operations, data center environments, or infrastructure support
- Proven experience supporting mission‑critical systems, including incident management, job scheduling, file transfers, and disaster recovery
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience working in financial services or regulated environments is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to diagnose issues, determine root cause, and implement effective solutions under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong documentation skills with a focus on clarity and completeness
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise job scheduling tools (e.g., BIC Scheduler, Control‑M) and Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms such as MOVEit
- Knowledge of backup methodologies (full, incremental, differential) and tools such as Cohesity, Net Backup, Veeam, or similar
- Understanding of disaster recovery concepts, including RTO/RPO objectives, and experience participating in DR testing
- Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, FTPS/SFTP, and firewall concepts
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management) and ticketing systems such as Ivanti or Service Now
- Experience with system monitoring tools and log analysis to ensure infrastructure health and performance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and basic automation (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP, macros)
