Job Description

Horvath & Tremblay is seeking a Director of Technology to help lead the firm's technology strategy and operations as we continue to scale our national commercial real estate platform. This is a senior leadership role for a builder and executor — someone who can set direction, manage a team, drive projects to completion, and embed modern technology and automation capabilities into the fabric of how we operate.

This individual will report directly to senior leadership and serve as the firm's internal authority on technology strategy, systems, and innovation. The right candidate is not just technically competent — they are a strong manager, a clear communicator, and someone who takes ownership.

We are looking for an individual that can excel in a fast-paced environment. Day-to-day functions include but are not limited to:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the firm's technology staff and external technology partners, setting clear priorities, expectations, and performance standards
  • Own the full lifecycle of technology projects — from scoping and planning through execution, stakeholder communication, and delivery
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement AI tools and automation solutions that reduce manual work, improve data quality, and accelerate deal and operations workflows
  • Oversee the firm's core business platforms, including our CRM, internal databases, and corporate applications — ensuring data integrity, usability, and alignment with business needs
  • Partner with senior leadership across brokerage, operations, and finance to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions
  • Build and maintain the firm's internal IT operations, managing vendor relationships, software licensing, and technology infrastructure
  • Prepare and present strategic technology recommendations, project updates, and performance reporting to firm leadership
  • Drive adoption of new tools through change management, training, and documentation
Job Qualifications and Requirements
  • IN-OFFICE ROLE: Candidate must be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Boston area
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8–12 years of progressive technology experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management role
  • Demonstrated success managing technology teams and external vendors in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives on time
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools, workflow automation platforms, and process improvement — and a genuine enthusiasm for what's possible in this space
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce experience is a plus)
  • Experience in commercial real estate, financial services, or a similarly deal-driven industry strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical thinking, executive communication skills, and high attention to detail
  • High ethical standards, entrepreneurial drive, and a bias toward action
