** About the Job
** The Cutting Room Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager with directing the day-to-day operations of the Cutting Room to ensure the timely, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of custom and production garments. This position oversees production personnel, quality, workflow, staffing, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. The Cutting Room Supervisor partners with Quality, Maintenance, Human Resources, and other production departments to meet customer expectations and achieve company performance objectives.
** What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities*
* · Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop employees to achieve performance goals related to safety, quality, productivity, teamwork, and job knowledge.
· Monitor workflow and allocate resources to maximize productivity and meet customer delivery requirements.
· Collaborate with the Quality department to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and approved coaching methods.
· Identify staffing needs and communicate hiring requirements to management.
· Coordinate employee training to ensure team members are properly trained in job duties, safety procedures, company policies, and cross-training initiatives.
· Partner with the Maintenance department to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired to minimize production interruptions.
· Promote a safe working environment by reporting, documenting, and addressing safety concerns and incidents.
· Participate in departmental meetings and communicate operational updates to employees and leadership.
· Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
· Administer employee coaching and corrective action in partnership with the Human Resources department.
· Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
** Skills & Experience*
* · Experience in textile or garment manufacturing preferred.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese preferred.
· Strong leadership and team development skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to effectively assign, prioritize, and schedule work.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S, preferred.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
· Ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
