Manufacturing Manager – Plastic Injection Molding
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Manufacturing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced plastic injection molding environment. This is not a purely administrative role—you will be deeply embedded in daily operations, working side-by-side with your team to drive performance, solve problems in real time, and ensure production goals are consistently met.
You will take ownership of the production floor—optimizing processes, supporting technical execution, and holding teams accountable to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and delivery.
Essential Functions
- Lead from the production floor by actively supporting molding operations, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Optimize personnel, materials, and equipment to consistently meet customer production goals and schedules.
- Step in as needed with hands-on technical work, including tool setting, processing adjustments, and light maintenance.
- Drive performance across key metrics, including On-Time Delivery, Quality, Efficiency, and Cost.
- Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase yield and reduce cycle times.
- Coach, train, and develop team members through direct, hands-on leadership and real-time feedback.
- Identify operational gaps and implement practical, results-driven solutions.
- Partner with customers to provide updates, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.
What Sets This Role Apart
- True hands-on leadership—you’ll be on the production floor, not removed from it.
- Direct impact on production performance and business results.
- Opportunity to lead large-scale operations involving 30+ machines and multiple shifts.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molding.
- Proven experience managing multiple shifts and large-scale operations involving 30+ machines.
- Strong technical expertise in processing, tooling, and troubleshooting.
- Leadership style rooted in accountability, coaching, and presence on the production floor.
- Experience with ERP systems; IQMS experience is preferred.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding On-Time Delivery, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Paid time off, holidays, and vacation.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Flexible Spending Account.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Life insurance and AD&D coverage.
- Short-term disability coverage.
- Optional long-term disability coverage.
- Employee referral program.
If you’re a manufacturing leader who prefers being on the floor, solving problems in real time, and driving measurable results, this is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
