The position: 2nd Shift Quality Inspector (4pm‑Midnight, Monday‑Friday) located at 260 Duchaine Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745. Reporting to the Director of Quality Control, the Quality Inspector will perform random sampling inspections, inspect in‑process and finished products, and record and maintain inspection paperwork.
What you'll do- Perform random sampling inspection of all incoming, in‑process and finished product to ensure 100% of quality requirements are met.
- Ensure product after each changeover is verified to meet compliance with product requirements.
- Record and maintain all inspection information in designated check sheets.
- Initiate Non‑Conformance Reports for defective product conditions, update mandatory logs for traceability, and follow up with department personnel responsible for containment and resolution.
- Monitor status of product on hold and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely disposition of material.
- Perform Layered Process Audits to ensure compliance with required process and product characteristics.
- Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to achieve site goals.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately.
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience as a quality inspector.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a data‑driven results orientation.
- Knowledge of quality testing methods (e.g., vernier caliper, micrometer, hardness test, tension test).
- Experience working in an ISO
9001‑based quality management system. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Complete the Atkore immersion program.

- Plan, organize, and support QA programs.
- Achieve operational excellence, superior product and customer satisfaction.
- Perform mandatory UL and CSA testing.
- Interact with plant personnel on quality testing and inspections.
- Document NCRs and ICARs for nonconforming materials and processes.
