Security Requirements
Provide support to all staff as needed to ensure a safe environment is maintained. Responsible for safety and security communications to supervisor(s). Excellent interpersonal communication skills while able to maintain professional boundaries. Maintain mental alertness and attention to high detail. Maintain a neat and professional appearance and provide excellent customer service as needed. Follow established security protocols while using initiative and good judgement without bias.
SecurityDuties and Responsibilities
Maintain the security and safety of all staff and clients. Patrol the campus and maintain security of buildings and grounds. Interact with staff and clients in a professional manner at all times. Create and maintain a working relationship with local police and fire rescue departments as needed. Assist in development and implementation of action plans to provide safe environment and immediate response to imminent threats of violence, criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, auto accidents, and others.
Assist law enforcement officers as directed by administration. Direct traffic and parking on campus; check vehicles for proper parking authorization; determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas. Maintain proper paperwork/reports to ensure all complaints filed with law enforcement have been signed off by program administration or their designated representative. Ensure doors/gates are locked and opened at designated times determined by program administration.
Assist, direct and monitor all persons entering and leaving the clinic property. Monitor parking area to ensure that no loitering or misconduct takes place, monitor lobby area, and do frequent sweeps of the entire building. Direct emergency personnel arriving on facility property and maintain flow of traffic during emergencies, such as fire drills. Knowledgeable of all emergency codes and appropriate responses.
Report any suspicious behavior to the Program Director and/or supervisors. Complete reporting logs and/or incident reports as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED, preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of a related degree. Bilingual in Spanish and/or Cape Verdean Creole, preferred.
Working Conditions / Occupational ExposureThis position would require one to work outdoors in inclement weather. Ability to manage emotional reactivity in highly stressful situations.
Physical RequirementsThis position will require standing for long periods of time, with frequent walking around and within the building. Shoes should be worn for comfort and traction due to responsibilities and duties.
