Tech Systems Assessment & Recommendations
We are looking for a volunteer with IT expertise to:
- Conduct a cybersecurity and IT infrastructure assessment
- Help us identify gaps in security and infrastructure and provide recommendations for solutions that are aligned with our needs
- Provide an initial cybersecurity 101 training (can be in person or virtual) for staff
This is part of a larger, multi‑phase project. The next phase will involve implementation and additional staff training.
Currently, programs and direct services are provided to over 5,000 individuals annually within four concentrations:
Adult, Community Impact & Engagement, Residential, and Youth. The YWCA primarily serves low‑income individuals from marginalized communities (i.e. racial & ethnically diverse, have different gender & sexual orientation; socially isolated, suffer from emotional and/or physical challenges) all of whom have experienced exclusion from social, economic and political opportunities that could benefit their life.
A robust IT infrastructure cybersecurity assessment is mission critical to continuing to provide these services. It will ensure improved, ongoing monitored security through encrypted data protection, strict access control, and audit trails. It will allow for greater operational efficiency and sustainability through integration between departments where necessary, streamlined management and delivery of services, improved data‑driven decision making, and vital scalability as the leadership role in Health Equity Community of Practice and the YWCA’s Mental Health Program continue to grow.
It will also ensure mission critical reliability by reducing or eliminating IT based service disruptions.
To prepare for our conversation, we’re ready to brief you on the key technology platforms we use to run our organization, an initial basic assessment and staff survey has been done and we can share those findings with you. We are happy to support you in your assessment in however you need. Your recommendations will be used to help us create a strategy for implementation, including seeking grant funding for necessary materials.
YWCA Southeastern Massachusetts is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
