Role Description The Restoration Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Massachusetts, United States. This role involves responding to residential and commercial property losses, performing water and fire damage restoration, mold remediation, and related cleanup tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing damage, setting up and monitoring drying equipment, removing affected materials, cleaning and deodorizing structures and contents, and assisting with mitigation efforts to prevent further damage.
The technician will follow safety protocols, maintain accurate documentation of work performed, and communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and customers. The role may require working in challenging environments, handling biohazard materials with proper PPE, and participating in an on-call rotation for emergency response.
Qualifications
- Experience or training in water-related restoration, including Water Damage and Water Damage Restoration.
- Knowledge of mitigation techniques and best practices to stabilize and protect damaged properties, including Mitigation skills.
- Strong Communication skills for interacting with customers, teammates, and supervisors, and for documenting job progress clearly.
- Awareness of environmental and biological concerns, including basic understanding of Invasive Species and contamination risks.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such such as lifting, carrying equipment, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfort using restoration tools and state-of-the-art equipment; willingness to learn new technologies and procedures.
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety, health, and regulatory guidelines, including use of appropriate PPE.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call emergency work.
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, facilities, or a related trade is preferred but not required; industry certifications (e.g., IICRC) are a plus.
