CDL A Driver

Job Overview

Base pay starts at $28.50 per hour. Shift: Day Shift.

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver windows and doors to dealers, distribution centers and construction job sites using a tractor‑trailer. This position requires safe driving, delivery and customer service skills. The driver will operate over the road during the week and may be required on Saturdays based on business needs.

• Safely assist in loading and unloading to customer location and return products.
• Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying of windows and doors of varying weights.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas.
• Maintain compliance records required by State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all Federal, State and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, material content. Direct customer to appropriate contact if unable to answer specific questions.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and doubles endorsement if twin trailers are pulled at location.
• Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record.
• 2 years of previous tractor‑trailer driving experience including winter driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Ability to read, write, perform simple mathematical calculations and general mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain logs.
• Follow instructions and take directions via on‑board computer system and by phone.
• Work independently and effectively with people in a fast‑paced environment.
• Travel as required (GA, NC, FL).
