Pay: $55,000-$65,000 based on experience

This is a full-time, on-site position during regular business hours, Monday - Friday.

Job Description:

The Staff Accountant plays a vital role within the Finance team, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions across various departments, including administration, production, sales, and maintenance. This individual will work closely with the team to support the continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures, contributing to the success and organization of the department. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter billing invoices for confirmed shipments and ensure accuracy.
  • Perform 3-way match and enter Accounts Payable invoices.
  • Monitor AR (Accounts Receivable) and AP (Accounts Payable) aging reports, ensuring accuracy and timely action.
  • Record cash receipts and maintain accurate cash flow reporting.
  • Review AR aging reports and perform proactive follow-up via calls and emails for the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Review, process, and enter employee and salesperson expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update sales and commission reports regularly.
  • Manage and enter new customer and vendor information into the system.
  • Prepare and submit biweekly 401K funding reports in line with payroll schedules.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date accounting records and assist with the preparation of financial statements and tax reporting.
  • Assist with the annual worker's compensation audit, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of quarterly and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Generate and distribute month-end inventory reports to the relevant departments.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of audits and annual budgets.
  • Handle ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the finance manager.
  • Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (will consider candidates with relevant equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role (manufacturing industry experience preferred).
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data entry.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
