JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Electrical Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from conception through completion – planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with company standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, technical ability, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management:
    Manage all phases of electrical projects, from initial planning to final closeout; develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans; coordinate manpower scheduling, material procurement, and equipment needs; review drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Client & Stakeholder Coordination:
    Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, and suppliers; maintain strong customer relationships; lead project meetings, provide updates, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Financial Management:
    Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts; review and approve change orders, subcontractor invoices, and progress billings; track job costs and ensure profitability targets are achieved.
  • Quality & Safety:
    Ensure projects meet company quality standards and electrical codes (NEC, state, local regulations); maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety and compliance with company and OSHA requirements; conduct project walkthroughs and inspections as needed.
  • Team Leadership:
    Collaborate with field supervisors and electricians to coordinate daily activities; provide guidance, support, and problem-solving to ensure smooth project execution; promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
  • Master Electrician License is a plus. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is a plus. Professional Engineer License is a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience preferred; open to 10+ years.
  • Experience doing electrical design work for industrial projects from customer ideas/drawings preferred; open to commercial projects (2000‑amp and/or medium voltage).
  • Ability to change designs based on customer budget.
  • Experience estimating industrial projects preferred; open to estimating commercial projects.
  • Knowledge of ladder logic is a plus.
  • Ability to project manage from concept to completion.
  • Must also be able to sell projects to the customer.
