Senior Structural Designer

Green Bay Packaging seeks a Senior Structural Designer to lead the design and development of corrugated packaging, folding cartons, and paperboard solutions. In this role, you will translate customer requirements into manufacturable, cost-effective, and sustainable structural designs using CAD tools and industry standards. You will create and test prototypes, optimize material usage, and collaborate closely with sales, production, and quality teams to ensure performance and printability.

The role mentors junior designers, supports continuous improvement, and helps drive innovation aligned with our safety, sustainability, and customer-service culture.

Responsibilities

• Design corrugated, folding carton, and paperboard packaging structures from customer requirements
• Develop and refine CAD drawings, specifications, and dielines for manufacturability
• Build and test prototypes to validate performance, durability, and fit
• Optimize designs for material efficiency, cost, and production capabilities
• Partner with sales, production, and quality teams on design feasibility and improvements
• Ensure designs meet safety, regulatory, and customer standards
• Support innovation and sustainability initiatives in structural packaging
• Mentor and support junior designers and drafters
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and tools
