Summary

The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations and serves as a first point of contact to serve our employees. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. This candidate must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and business needs.

This role assists across multiple HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS data management, compliance, and training support. The position is ideal for a motivated professional looking to build a broad foundation in human resources.

Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Assist with job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling with a non-exempt & hourly focus.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and required documentation to ensure employees gain an understanding of policies & benefits plans and enrollment provisions.
  • Counsel potential employees/applicants on Denali’s benefits (medical, PTO, 401(k), etc.) so that individuals can make informed decisions in their acceptance of the offer.
  • Support background checks, employment verifications, and I-9 compliance
Employee Support & Relations
  • Counsel employees on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefits decisions, responding to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Assist and conduct employee training and development (New Hire Orientations, Benefits, etc.)
  • Assist with employee records management and personnel file maintenance
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
  • Attend operational meetings as needed to identify people/HR-related issues
Benefits & HR Administration
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries
  • Support payroll processing and timekeeping administration

    Maintain accurate HRIS data, reports, and documentation
  • Own the conversion of employee files from paper to electronic files
Compliance & Policies
  • Support the company with employee issues, concerns, & complaints, clearly document, and maintain records for resolution
  • Protect the company by ensuring HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Support audits and HR reporting requirements
  • Assist with policy updates and acknowledgment tracking
Training & Development
  • Coordinate training sessions and maintain training records
  • Assist with performance review cycles and documentation
General HR Support
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives
  • Participate in continuous improvement of HR processes
  • Maintain attendance records and issue attendance violations
  • Assist with engagement surveys and follow-up initiatives
Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required or preferred)
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of HR, operations, administrative, internship or relevant experience
Knowledge & Skills
  • Basic understanding of HR principles, employment law, and best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); HRIS experience a plus
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Comfortable working with frontline managers
  • Professional, approachable, and service-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
