Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with a variety of tasks, including legal research, preparing and drafting documents, managing case files, responding to discovery requests, and supporting the legal team in daily operations. The Paralegal will also handle general office duties such as answering phones, copying, and mailing.
This role is vital in ensuring the smooth execution of legal processes and contributing to the success of the legal department.
$60k-$75k
Key Responsibilities- Conduct legal research to support the team’s work by reviewing laws, cases, and regulations.
- Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, court filings, and letters.
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including drafting responses and organizing related documents.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files for easy access.
- Assist in case preparation by gathering evidence, preparing exhibits, and organizing witness statements.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and keep them informed about their cases.
- Prepare and file court documents, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate attorney or staff member.
- Handle general office duties, including photocopying, scanning, and mailing documents.
- Provide general support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, hearings, and depositions.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in employment law.
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation processes.
- Experience managing discovery, document review platforms, and case management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
