Full‑time, Salaried, Exempt position. Salary is paid biweekly.

O&M Manager.

Location:

Milwaukee, WI.

Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for ensuring laboratory and testing equipment functions as expected, assist in assembling custom test stations, and maintain equipment such as vacuum pumps, chillers, furnaces, presses, etc.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root cause.
  • Perform required routine preventative maintenance.
  • Notify O&M supervisor of abnormalities or maintenance requirements.
  • Follow CAD drawings to assemble frames, route tubing and electrical wiring.
  • Wire and debug control cabinets following electrical schematics.
  • Coordinate and follow through with maintenance activities to ensure resolution.
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of system components to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to optimize equipment performance and recommend improvements.
  • Support equipment maintenance & PM schedule creation & use in Smartsheet.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with equipment maintenance policy.
  • Provide LOTO resource.
  • Assist with station build, troubleshooting & commissioning new equipment.
  • Perform calibrations of equipment as required; ensure calibration schedule is followed and report deviations.
  • Update/review/assess calibration methods, procedures, forms and improvements in technology.
  • Conduct job tasks with good housekeeping and laboratory technique.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Work to continuously improve processes and equipment capabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in renewable energy, hydrogen production, chemical processing, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and automation systems is a plus.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
    • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to high‑pressure gases, electrical systems, and hazardous materials.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential on‑call duties and emergency repairs.
    • Experience troubleshooting and fixing mechanical systems, including pumps, heat‑exchangers, furnaces & regulators.
    • Experience fabricating and assembling complex parts, jigs, and test system components.
    • Proven ability to suggest alternative, cost‑effective solutions.
    • Experience in scientific equipment/component manufacturing preferred.
    • Results‑oriented and can work independently.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift, carry and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop and reach for extended periods.
    • Ability to climb ladders and stairs as needed.
    • Manual dexterity required for operating warehouse tools and equipment.
    • Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot/cold) within the warehouse environment.
    • Visual and auditory ability to safely operate equipment and identify hazards.
