Shop General Labor

Under the guidance of the Shop Manager and shop personnel, an electric motor shop general laborer performs essential support tasks, including cleaning equipment and parts, disassembling and reassembling motors, and preparing surfaces for repair.

• Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition.
• Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including but not limited to: parts washers/steamers, etc.
• Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
• Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment.
• Assist in the rewind of various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.)
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Adhere to all company policies.
• All other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma is required. Technical Certification or Associates Degree in a related field is preferred.
• Mechanical skills in troubleshooting, electrical theory and understanding of AC and DC motors desired.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office products is ideal.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
• Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
