Maintenance Storeroom & Purchasing Coordinator
Full-Time | Manufacturing Environment
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Storeroom & Purchasing Coordinator to support operations across multiple production facilities. This role serves as the central point for Maintenance and Engineering inventory, purchasing, and parts control.
The ideal candidate understands how organized inventory, accurate data, and strong vendor partnerships directly impact equipment uptime and operational performance. This position plays a key role in ensuring technicians have the right materials at the right time to keep production running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of maintenance storeroom inventory across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Coordinate purchasing of maintenance and engineering parts, supplies, and services.
- Manage parts workflow within a CMMS, including quoting, ordering, receiving, issuing, kitting, and staging.
- Develop and maintain accurate inventory records, part descriptions, numbering standards, and storage locations.
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to identify and maintain critical spare parts by asset.
- Support expedited sourcing of parts to minimize production downtime.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and evaluate alternate sourcing opportunities.
- Support vendor-managed inventory programs where applicable.
- Generate operational and cost reports related to inventory, purchasing, and storeroom performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on storeroom organization, cost reduction, and reliability best practices.
- Maintain compliance with safety, GMP, and housekeeping standards within the storeroom environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a structured maintenance storeroom within a manufacturing or automated production environment.
- Experience working with a CMMS system for inventory and work order processing.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills and comfort working with inventory systems and reporting tools.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities independently.
- Technical or college-level coursework related to maintenance, supply chain, or industrial operations.
- Experience serving as a CMMS power user or subject matter expert.
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance practices and structured inventory systems.
- Industrial manufacturing environment.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and occasional ladder use.
- Exposure to typical plant conditions including moving equipment and moderate noise levels.
- Use of required safety equipment such as steel-toed footwear and safety glasses.
