Process Engineer
Job Description
The Process Engineer plays a key role in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This position focuses on optimizing production systems, supporting equipment upgrades and product changes, and partnering with internal teams and customers to improve existing products and successfully commercialize new ones.
Responsibilities
+ Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, reliability, and safety.
+ Develop and implement recommendations to enhance production rates, process efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeover times.
+ Design and propose innovative solutions for equipment upgrades and product changes, addressing customer product issues, quality concerns, alternative product options, and cost reduction initiatives.
+ Partner closely with customers, sales, and operations teams to refine existing products and support the commercialization of new products through manufacturing processes.
+ Improve process capability to ensure consistent and stable production performance while increasing production volume.
+ Maintain and elevate quality standards across manufacturing operations by applying process engineering and continuous improvement methodologies.
+ Create, update, and optimize work instructions and process documentation to support safe, standardized, and efficient operations.
+ Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, streamline workflows, and enhance overall process effectiveness.
+ Collaborate with machining and production teams to ensure processes are aligned with equipment capabilities and product requirements.
+ Monitor process performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback from production and quality teams.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience using AutoCAD for process design, layout, or equipment-related drawings.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience working with and around lean manufacturing practices.
+ Demonstrated experience in process improvement and continuous improvement within manufacturing systems.
+ Strong understanding of machining processes and their integration into manufacturing workflows.
+ Ability to develop and refine work instructions and process documentation.
+ Proficiency in process engineering principles focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose process issues and develop effective solutions.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer-facing groups.

+ Experience applying lean manufacturing tools to drive waste reduction and process optimization.
+ Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and structured problem-solving approaches.
+ Comfort working in environments that involve machining and related manufacturing equipment.
+ Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts and recommendations clearly to diverse stakeholders.
+ Ability to manage multiple improvement initiatives and prioritize based on impact and feasibility.
Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Process Engineer will initially train on the day shift and then transition to a night shift schedule. The position involves regular collaboration with operations, sales, and customer-focused teams, as well as hands-on interaction with production equipment and machining processes. Work is performed in a facility setting with standard industrial conditions, where adherence to site-specific safety protocols and appropriate attire for a manufacturing environment is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
