Material Handler, Forklift Operator
The Material Handler works with, coordinates, stages, organizes, and documents the flow of materials in all stages of production (RAW, WIP, WIP, FG). This includes assisting with all material supply and any other operational areas as needed.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Support production:- Staging materials and supplies in accordance with batch instructions
- Make sure Item, Lot and quantities are pulled, scanned or reported in the ERP system
- Pull and load warehouse transfers to other plants and locations
- Organizing Work-in-Process (WIP) items for operators at workstations
- Return unused materials/supplies from production to appropriate bin locations in Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Wrapping & Palletizing
- Labeling to customer specifications
- Storing in Finished Goods Warehouse using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) and properly documenting location in WMS.
- Pull partial Finished Goods pallets to production for completion
- Following and adhering to process for Quality Holds
- 5S activities by keeping work areas, facility, and warehouses clean and organized
- Performs daily cycle counts as instructed
- Support shipping and receiving as directed
- Other duties as required.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One-year related experience.
- Requires the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift (certified).
- Other combination of education and experience that would be equivalent or exceed above standard.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Results driven with good work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instruction. Do it right the first time.
- Ability to prioritize task, as well as change to other tasks quickly.
- Previous operations and/or warehouse experience desired
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or manually move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or manually move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several solid variables in standardized situations.
- Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include a computer, hoist, hand truck and various small hand tools.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Tropos, Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred.
Requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations. Requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
