OverviewThe Material Handler plays an important role in the Distribution Warehouse team and is responsible for receiving, handling, processing, and shipping all of IEWC’s customer materials while maintaining our reputation for operational excellence and premier customer service.
The Material Handler has the responsibility to unload and receive products from our suppliers, deliver and return products from production, operations and warehouse locations, and load/ship products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Safely drive forklift and maintain valid certification.
- Use a forklift to unload/load product per IEWC shipping/receiving process and provide any documentation regarding product to appropriate individuals.
- Pull, put back, or stage product using a forklift and occasional physical lifting.
- Prioritize daily work by reading appropriate product labels and communicating with team members.
- Understand the warehouse layout to ensure well‑organized product storage and order pulling.
- Use tablets, RF scanners, and/or other computer‑like devices for appropriate scanning of product.
- Meet or exceed daily production targets.
- Report any product damages or discrepancies to appropriate individuals.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area to the IEWC 5S standards.
- Regularly seek ways to improve the way we work and actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Treat all coworkers, customers, and suppliers in a helpful and professional manner.

- Education and/or
Experience:
High School graduate (or GED) preferred; a minimum of three years of related experience preferred. - Technology
Skills:
Ability to use the basic required company software, tablets, or systems. - Fork Lift License:
Ability to pass the forklift certification (after IEWC provided training) and maintain licensure for sit‑down, stand‑up and order picker forklifts. - Physical Demands:

- Movement:
Frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, and use feet to operate equipment. Frequently required to talk and hear. Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders and climb or balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. - Work Environment:
Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. Frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Frequently exposed to a noise level ranging from moderate to high. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. - Personal Protective Equipment:
Requires the use of safety shoes, eye protection, and fall protection.
