SUMMARY OF POSITION:

A Level 1 Machine Technician will be trained and tested to run 1 molding machine platform and other support auxiliary equipment to ensure containers are produced within customer specification. A Level 1 Machine Technician will perform routine and reactive equipment maintenance to increase productivity and uptime.

To move to a Level 2, Members must spend 2 rotations in Setup. The Member will learn their role in changeovers and other technical duties and data.

  • Schedule: 4 days on 4 days off rotating work week, 12-Hour Shifts.

    Days: 6:50am-7:00pm // Nights: 6:50pm-7:00am
JOB DUTIES &

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Perform safe work practices, helping to promote a safe environment for all Team Members.
  • Conduct daily equipment safety assessments in the Redzone system to highlight any unsafe equipment or working conditions that need to be resolved quickly.
  • Independently perform machine adjustments, minor to intermediate equipment repairs, and perform routine scheduled daily and weekly maintenance tasks.
  • Adjust downstream equipment and pieces of equipment such as unjamming detabbers, spin trimmers, conveyors, belts, and rails.
  • Independently operate auto palletizers, strappers, and wrappers.
  • Accurately document all records related to downtime, production, scrap, repairs, and process deviations in the Redzone system.
  • Aid in equipment changeovers and process startups to increase machine uptime and plant efficiency.
  • Elevate intricate machine issues to the Maintenance team in a detailed and professional manner.
  • Communicate operation specific information verbally and or through the Redzone written communication forums to Managers and Team Members in a positive manner.
  • Conduct Quality verification checks to ensure product produced within quality standards on downstream equipment.
  • Engage in cross-shift equipment and operations information communication hand-offs amongst peers to ensure process consistency and shared knowledge.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned and contributing to process improvements.
  • Train and mentor new MT’s - trainer must be employed at Radius for 8 months-1 year to train.
  • Compliance to GMP, Food Safety, and Food Quality regulations as required by the company, customers, and/or government agencies.
  • Always willing to help support other teams with open tasks and projects.
  • High School diploma or GED and equivalent reading, writing, basic math, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and high level of comfort operating press machinery.
  • Capable of working independently, self-sufficiently, and productively with little supervision.
  • Eager to support fellow members in keeping the facility and its equipment clean, neat, and well-maintained.
  • Familiarity with basic computer functions and Microsoft office applications.
  • Experience using Apple iPad devices and applications preferred.
  • Must be able to provide own basic set of tools.
  • Must be able to work independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift/carry up to 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms for regular tasks.
  • Must be able to climb steps, have good hand-eye coordination, and bend/squat.
  • Must be able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to operate effectively in temperatures ranging from 60 to 110

    F.
  • Must be capable of visually detecting defects, depth, colors, variances, and see objects.
