The General Laborer performs a variety of plant duties, including direct production tasks like stacking, feeding, and assisting machine operators, as well as assisting in assembly. This role supports production by filling in on machines and assembly department when needed and ensuring accurate reporting and quality checks. Direct supervision is always available, and training is provided for all assigned tasks.
Responsibilities· Train to perform various positions, including stacking and feeding, working in assembly.
· Assist machine operators to keep orders running smoothly and provide coverage when operators are absent
· Perform general duties such as:
Catching from machines Acting as an extra feeder on machines Miscellaneous banding Sweeping and cleaning up machines Working in assembly department Wrapping pallets
· Fill in on any production machines and assembly department for employees who are on vacation, sick, or otherwise absent
· Accurately report time and production on required sheets
· Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
· No previous plant experience necessary
· Typically requires less than one month to become fully competent on the job
· Must be able to correctly interpret shop orders
· Must pass a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· High school diploma or GED required
· Must be able to lift 20 pounds repetitively and up to 50 pounds
· Must be able to stand for 8–10 hours per shift
