OVERVIEW
The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining the effectiveness and integrity of IEWC’s Quality Management System and ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable quality standards, customer requirements, and internal policies.
This position serves as IEWC’s primary leader for ISO 9001, AS9100, customer, and other applicable quality audits. The Quality Manager coordinates audit preparation, leads internal and external audit activities, manages audit findings, and partners with business leaders to ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
The Quality Manager also provides people leadership and guidance to the local Quality team, supports product and regulatory compliance activities, and uses quality data to identify systemic risks and opportunities for improvement. This position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to influence leaders and employees across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESQuality Management System & Audits
- Maintain and continually improve IEWC’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, customer, and internal requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison for third-party registrar, certification, and customer audits.
- Develop and manage the internal audit schedule based on risk, prior findings, and business changes.
- Lead or conduct internal audits across IEWC facilities and coordinate all audit-readiness activities.
- Ensure quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and records remain current, controlled, and consistently followed.
- Document audit findings, assign accountable owners, and monitor actions through completion.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions before formally closing audit findings.
- Provide guidance regarding product and regulatory requirements, including RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, Proposition 65, TSCA, UL, and CSA.
- Oversee corrective actions resulting from audits, customer complaints, returns, supplier issues, and other nonconformities.
- Facilitate root-cause analysis and ensure corrective actions address underlying causes and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure customer complaints, quality surveys, compliance requests, and corrective actions are completed accurately and on time.
- Serve as a Quality contact for customers and suppliers regarding audit, compliance, and quality-system matters.
- Identify recurring or systemic issues and partner with functional leaders to reduce quality and compliance risk.
- Maintain complete and accurate audit, compliance, corrective-action, calibration, and quality-system records.
- Lead, coach, and develop the local Quality team while establishing clear priorities and performance expectations.
- Develop and deliver training on quality-system requirements, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and corrective-action practices.
- Compile and analyze data related to audits, nonconformities, customer complaints, returns, and corrective actions.
- Report Quality Management System performance, audit results, compliance risks, and corrective-action status to leadership.
- Use quality data and trends to identify systemic risks, cost‑saving opportunities, and process improvements.
- Partner with Operations, Sourcing, Engineering, Sales, and other functions to resolve quality issues and strengthen compliance.
- Promote a culture of customer satisfaction, accountability, continuous improvement, and adherence to established standards.
