Retail Store Manager – Burghardt Sporting Goods, New Berlin, WI

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Give all customers the highest level of customer service.
• Greet each customer as they are encountered, ensuring that all of their needs and wants are met.
• Work in rotating zone coverage with other staff members.
• Process customer sales transactions and returns in accordance with established company procedures.
• Promote company programs and marketing within the store.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of what products we currently offer as well as suggest items based on customer feedback.
• Ability to work with management to price, stock, and transfer retail items.
• Help in our Hit Trax performance center.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage throughout the store and work with management as directed.
• Open and close the store and lead the part‑time staff.
• Work with store managers on daily projects and tasks.
• Lead part‑time staff when managers aren’t on site.

Store Managers are required to work two closing shifts per week as well as at least one shift during the weekend.

• Week shifts: 1:00‑9:00 pm.
• Saturday shift: 11:00‑7:00 pm.
• Sunday shift: 10:00‑6:00 pm.

• Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• 1‑5 years of retail experience.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Ability to collaborate with senior store manager and opener/closers.
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast‑paced exciting environment.
• Strong customer service and leadership skills.
• Previous experience in a leadership position is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer programs.
• Great written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.

• 1‑5 years of retail sales, cashier, or customer‑focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to work 4+ hours at a time while standing or walking.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time.
