Job Description

This role is designed for a motivated, early‑career professional who wants significant in‑person and field experience and a clear growth path within customer success and business development. This is an on‑site position based out of Ken Cook Co.’s New Berlin, Wisconsin office. While the role includes frequent travel, the individual is expected to work from the New Berlin office when not traveling.

Role Overview

As a Junior Customer Success Manager focused on new business development, you will be responsible for generating new business, owning the customer relationship after the sale, and actively using social media and video content as part of your daily workflow. This role blends field engagement, customer success, and personal brand‑driven lead generation.

Role Focus New Business Development, Field Engagement, and Content Creation
  • Heavy emphasis on outbound prospecting and in‑person relationship building
  • Frequent travel to customer sites, industry events, and conferences
  • Leading discovery conversations to understand customer needs and challenges
  • Learning Ken Cook Co.’s products, services, and customer use cases through real‑world engagement
  • Actively using social media and video content to support lead generation and relationship building
  • Supporting sales and customer success activities from the New Berlin office
Customer Ownership and Growth
  • Transitioning newly acquired customers into your own book of business for the first year
  • Managing onboarding, adoption, and ongoing customer success
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for customers you bring onboard
  • Conducting regular check‑ins and business reviews
  • Identifying renewal, upsell, and expansion opportunities within assigned accounts
Key Responsibilities New Business Development and Social Media Engagement
  • Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities within the technical communications space
  • Conduct outbound outreach through calls, email, social media, and in‑person meetings
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Represent Ken Cook Co. at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
  • Actively participate in social media to generate awareness, build credibility, and support lead generation
  • Create or contribute to social media campaigns using personal or company channels
  • Appear on camera regularly for short‑form video, live content, or promotional material
Customer Success and Account Management
  • Own customer relationships from initial sale through ongoing engagement
  • Lead onboarding and early adoption of Ken Cook Co. solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor for assigned customers
  • Coordinate internally with IT, POD, and Creative Services to support customer needs
  • Capture customer feedback and share insights to improve products, processes, and customer experience
Social Media and On‑Camera Expectations
  • Comfortable being on camera on a daily basis
  • Willing to create short‑form video content, participate in live streams, and appear in marketing or educational content
  • Collaborate with marketing to align content with company messaging and goals
  • Engage professionally with prospects and customers across social platforms
Travel and Work Location Requirements
  • Work from the Ken Cook Co. office in New Berlin, WI when not traveling
  • Travel approximately 40 to 50 percent of the time
  • Conduct on‑site customer visits, training sessions, and relationship‑building meetings
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience in sales, business development, customer success, marketing, or a related customer‑facing role preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable creating and appearing in video and social media content
  • Ability and willingness to work on‑site in New Berlin, WI
  • Comfortable with frequent travel and in‑person customer engagement
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and adaptable in a fast‑paced role
  • Interest in building a long‑term career in customer success and business development
