Supply Chain Manager - System Drives

In this role you will lead Logistics at ABB Motion High Power in New Berlin, WI, as a key member of the Supply Chain Management team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will own the logistics operations from quote to delivery: booking shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, and optimizing freight through carrier comparison, rate negotiation, and shipment consolidation to control costs.

You will also work closely with Supply Chain, Trade Compliance, Suppliers, Freight Carriers, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth execution of both inbound and outbound shipments.

This role is hybrid in New Berlin, WI - supporting the Motion High Power Division.

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Manage carrier selection for project shipments by sourcing quotes, evaluating cost and delivery performance, negotiating rates, and booking the most efficient transportation solution.
  • Serve as the primary logistics contact for Project Managers, Supply Chain, and Sales, providing timely updates and decisive support to ensure smooth execution and meet critical deadlines.
  • Review and audit freight invoices, resolve billing errors, analyze root causes, and drive process improvements to minimize penalties and logistics costs.
  • Maintain and present logistics KPI reports to the business to track performance trends, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Simultaneously manage logistics transactions and information across SAP ERP, carrier portals, SharePoint sites, Excel reports, and freight invoice databases.
  • Act as the primary owner of local freight carrier operations, coordinating corrective actions as needed and actively tracking and improving carrier performance.
Our Team Dynamics

Our teams support each other, collaborate, and never stop learning. Everyone brings something unique, and together we push ideas forward to solve real problems. Being part of our team means your work matters - because the progress we make here creates real impact out there.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience OR Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations or a related field with 4+ years of relevant work experience OR a High School Diploma and 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in logistics coordination, freight management, warehouse management, or transportation operations, ideally in an international manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple transportation modes (e.g., ocean, air, road) and coordinating shipments with external carriers and forwarders.
  • Experience managing operational carrier relationships, including issue resolution, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in using SAP or other ERP software as well as MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
