Forklift Driver – Full Time

The forklift operator is responsible for operating power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator ensures safe, efficient operation and may perform order filler and checker duties. Responsibilities also include the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Input data accurately into WMS.
- Efficiently stack and store product in appropriate area.
- Maintain an organized work area.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring exact quantity and type.
- Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
- Prepare freight for operations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Move product from staging and/or storage to production lines and/or staging docks.
- Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.
- Keep records and reports for inventory control and security.
- Assist in physical inventories and maintain proper stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in warehouse security.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment.
- Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean, orderly fashion.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklift or other equipment daily.
- Operate all equipment in a safe, efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
- Maintain active forklift certification.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Change fuel tanks on forklifts as needed.
- Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested.
- Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months experience in logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
- Ability to operate MHE.
- Comfortable working in unregulated temperatures within warehouse (mild to moderate).
- Completed forklift training program.
- Basic computer skills, RF scanners, WMS functions.
- English reading, writing, speaking.
- Basic to intermediate math skills to verify quantities and inventory.
- Strong attention to detail and timely completion of tasks.
- Ability to perform with minimal supervision and adapt to change.
- 1‑2 years experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 1‑2 years forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
- Occasionally:
Handling/Fingering, Sitting. - Frequently:
Bending. - Constantly:
Walking, Standing. - Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21‑50 pounds.
- Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
