Position Overview
We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success and that of our customers. This is a full‑time 1st‑shift Logistics Material Handler position at nVent, 16250 W. Woods Edge Road, New Berlin, WI 53151. Pay begins at $17.00 per hour. Working hours are Monday‑Friday, 7:00AM–3:00PM.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of material handling tasks including pick‑location replenishment, inbound stock put‑away, inventory cycle counting, and truck loading/unloading.
- Complete forklift certification classes on all types of lifts.
- Operate forklift equipment per safety policy, including daily lift inspections.
- Complete daily 5S tasks (warehouse organization and cleaning).
- Accurately complete inventory moves per WMS task assignment, ensuring correct quantity and location.
- Properly prep pallets for put‑away and replenishment per standard work.
- Meet productivity rates when performing each material handling task.
- Communicate barriers to leads or supervisors.
- Contribute to the Continuous Improvement Program by participating on value‑stream teams or offering suggestions to improve safety, quality, on‑time delivery, or cost performance via the formal employee suggestion process.
- Help with order picking when needed.
- At least 1 year of Distribution Center experience.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Capable of accurately matching visual information on a smartphone device with product labels.
- Must focus on counting products accurately on every transaction to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Strong addition and multiplication skills.
- Effective communication with co‑workers and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to use a smartphone device continuously during the shift.
- Must be able to repetitively lift 10+lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60lbs.
- Must be able to stand continuously for an 8‑10 hour shift.
- Must be able to occasionally bend 90° and twist 45°.
- Must be able to operate motorized equipment and all forklift types safely.
- Must understand and follow verbal and written instructions from ECM training lead, department lead, and department supervisor.
- Ability to work voluntary/mandatory overtime as business dictates.
- Repetitive lifting up to 10+lbs.; occasional lifting up to 60lbs.
- Continual standing for 8‑10 hour shifts; occasional bending 90° and twisting 45°.
