Position Summary

The SIS and Accountability Technician supports the district’s Testing and Student Information Services departments by providing administrative, technical, organizational, and operational assistance. This position coordinates testing materials and activities, supports student information processes, maintains accurate records and documentation, assists with data management and reporting, and provides customer service to schools and district personnel.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The SIS and Accountability Technician provides administrative duties that are not limited to administrative and technical support; assistance with the preparation, organization, and dissemination of district training and test materials; and supporting the creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of student, teacher, and staff accounts.

The SIS and Accountability Technician will assist the Testing Department with the preparation and distribution of test materials to each school, and also collaborate with the schools to check in testing materials at the end of each administration. The SIS and Accountability Technician will also assist with test training of school test coordinators and other testing personnel as needed, and they will maintain user roles and permissions in NCTest.

In addition, the SIS and Accountability Technician is responsible for maintaining consistent communication with each school to ensure deadlines are met, and annual training/required documentation is accounted for. Concerning the Student Information Services department, the SIS and Accountability Technician will assist with data quality assurance and verification, including the identification of discrepancies, missing information, or potential errors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of school district operations, testing procedures, student information systems, and administrative processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or comparable productivity software, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentations.
• Ability to learn and effectively use NCTest, Infinite Campus, and other district and state technology platforms.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and secure testing materials.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine data, system, and administrative issues.

Working Conditions

The SIS and Accountability Technician works in an environment requiring frequent communication with school and district personnel and may require travel to schools to deliver materials, provide training, monitor testing, or provide operational support. The position may require flexibility during testing windows, enrollment periods, state reporting deadlines, and other critical data-processing periods.
