Job Coach/Teacher Assistant Bus Driver
Directly assist OCS students in transitioning into competitive employment through job development, community-based training/coaching and assistance with actual work experiences that are aligned with their post-secondary goals. Employee will supervise students assigned to the OCS program while working within the school setting and out in the community at work sites. Monitoring student's behavior while on the school bus, in transit to community-based training job sites and or job searching is also a responsibility of this employee.
Education and Experience- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 48 semester credit hours
- Experience in Challenging Behavior/Autism
- Must obtain and maintain a CDL for driving a bus
Provide quality job coaching services that align with the OCS program guidelines and to the OCS students assigned to community-based & competitive employment placements with integrity and professionalism
Supervise students assigned to the OCS program while working within the school setting and out in the community at work sites. Monitor student's behavior while on the school bus, in transit to community-based training job sites and or job searching.
Goal:- To provide quality job coaching services that meet the needs of the employers, the Occupational Course of Study program and the students that are assigned
- Track student Community-Based Training (CBT) hours and Paid Employment (PE) hours on a daily basis
- Complete evaluations for student progress reports and report cards
- Collect student timesheets on a monthly basis
- Complete Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) case service invoices on a monthly basis
- Complete monthly report including current School-Based training (SBT), CBT & PE totals for each student
- Maintain database of potential and current community employers
- Communicate with students, teachers, guidance counselors, Vocational Rehabilitation, parents, supported employment agencies and community business managers
- Student-schedules, status of required hours, explaining expectations on the job sites
- Guidance counselor-providing information concerning students who have completed SBT, CBT and PE hours
- Teachers-New teacher orientation (explaining OCS job coach program and schedules)
- Vocational Rehabilitation-student progress/lack of progress, interest and dislikes based on Community-Based training
- Parents-student progress/lack of progress information pertinent to student obtaining employment (i.e. , Social Security cards, )
- Supported Employment (SE) agencies-information pertinent to student obtaining employment, hours earned while out with the SE job coach
- Community Business Managers-employment needs, feedback on student performance, feedback on service/partnership with the school
- Power school-obtain student schedules, submit hour for transcripts
- Provide transportation for students to training sites during the school day
- Access student's employment interest, employability and job readiness skills
- Assist students with obtaining state 's, background checks, fingerprints and other necessary pre-employment
- Assist students with preparing clean, neat and appropriate attire for work
- Link student to Vocational Rehabilitation services
- Visit community businesses, assess various positions, duties and skills required to perform job
- Develop a partnership with business that will allow students to come in and experience on-the-job training experiences. Link and coordinate students to selected job
- Once sites established, meet regularly with the employer for feedback on student performance.
- Assist students with job research (completing applications, interviews and initial training)
- Provide one-on-one job training
- Provide transportation to and from training site during the school day and assist with coordinating transportation outside of the school day

- Maintain a log of student earned community-based and paid employment hours
- Ability to communicate with community businesses and develop community-based job opportunities
- Maintain a list of potential employers for community and/or paid job placements
- Conduct job-site analysis
- Develop task analysis detailing every step of the job for each job that students will be performing
