Position Overview:
The Lunch Program Coordinator ensures the safe, efficient, and Christ-centered operation of Saint Paul Catholic School’s lunch program and morning student arrival process. This role manages daily logistics from building opening through lunch service and next-day planning; supervises student arrivals and early care; coordinates vendor interactions; maintains facility cleanliness; and supports the school’s mission by fostering a welcoming environment for students, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Morning Operations & Student Arrival
- Open the school building at 6:30 AM and conduct safety checks (unlocking the office/library, checking lights, inspecting bathrooms, setting up traffic cones, and conducting an overall building assessment).
- Manage Early Care arrival: welcome students, log arrivals in FACTS, supervise hallway traffic near the office, and lead the Bright Spots, Prayers, and Praises group (7:20–7:30 AM) with early arrivals and faculty.
- Greet students inside the building and assist with classroom transitions.
- Serve in the front office (7:45–9:30 AM): manage the tardy desk, log lunch options and addresses in FACTS, address light custodial needs (toilet paper, paper towels, classroom cleaning), relay office information to teachers, and assist with basic student needs (e.g., sick room).
- Transition to the FLC (Family Life Center) at 10:00 AM to prepare for lunch service, including transporting lunches from vendors.
- Execute lunch service and supervise adults assisting with the process.
- Perform custodial cleanup of the kitchen, lunch area, and FLC bathrooms after service.
Planning & Coordination for Next Day
- Coordinate and plan for the following day’s lunch by reviewing FACTS orders, confirming details with vendors, ordering drink items, and finalizing plans with administration.
- Prepare or bake dessert items for student lunch.
- Execute school-wide special-event lunches (ordering, cooking, and serving with parent volunteers).
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate lunch planning with local vendors as approved by the school administration.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and address minor custodial needs throughout the day.
- Assist with training parent volunteers for duties.
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parent volunteers to support school operations.
- Serve as an active member of the SPCS Knight Family, promoting fellowship with students, families, and the Parish community.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to Catholic values and the school’s mission.
Preferred:
- Experience in food service, school operations, or customer service.
- Familiarity with FACTS management software.
- Basic knowledge of custodial tasks and facility maintenance.
