Position: Engineer II, Product Develop - PERM 10223

Responsibilities

  • Provide product design engineering expertise for cooking appliances that will positively affect and add value to cooking products.
  • Ensure projects and assignments are delivered on time and involve development, design, testing, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Act as a technical resource within engineering teams.
  • Develop and design 3D-CAD models and drawings of components, systems, sub-modules, and appliances following the BSH Product Development Process (PDP).
  • Create requirement engineering specifications for parts and systems.
  • Support product quality and safety during development and sustaining engineering, following internal guidelines and agency standards (UL/CSA, IEC).
  • Collaborate with the lab to test appliances, parts, and assemblies for performance (air flow, noise, structural integrity, safety, temperature, electrical, sharp edges) and reliability over lifetime.
  • Develop and implement work and test procedures to ensure efficient resource use.
  • Present and discuss test results and provide solutions to problems.
  • Design parts, assemblies, and appliances suitable for production and customer service.
  • Implement new and changed parts into production by preparing Engineering Change Requests (CR).
  • Develop and maintain BOMs.
  • Participate in project and design reviews.
  • Plan and prepare worst-case studies.
  • Release newly developed or changed parts or appliances after testing via the part release process.
  • Support assembly line from Pre-Pilot to Production.
  • Handle multiple projects with differing scopes and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a timeline of sub-projects and related tasks according to BSH PDP and deadlines.
  • Perform competitor analysis, benchmarking, and target costing.
  • Recognize critical parts and processes, generate and analyze tolerance studies.
  • Oversee development and design solutions of other engineers within working groups.
  • Ensure project management with task deadlines, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work with a high degree of latitude.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Development Design Engineer, Energy Efficiency Engineer, or similar role in high-end, complex, consumer-based products.
  • Experience with:
    • 3D CAD and PLM/PDM.
    • FMEA, DFMA, DfR, target costing, and risk management.
    • Global architecture for surface gas cooking products.
    • Developing components and appliances within global architectures.
    • Literature research and constructive use of consultants.
Additional Information

Telecommuting:
Hybrid, 2 days allowed per week.
