POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for all Electrical and Air Conditioning related systems
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Support of all manufacturing related to the electrical, refrigeration, and air condition related systems of 45+ foot sport fishing yachts both in new designs and current construction
-25% - Work with a team of 2 or more electrical engineers in the design of systems and documentation, including electrical load assessment and use of AC and DC current systems
-25 % - Collaboration with other engineering discipline members regarding the electrical and air condition systems.
-20% - Interaction without outside electrical and air conditioning suppliers, defining, quoting and implementation of new products and updated systems.
-15 % - Assure the conformance of the electrical systems by following identified professional standards and ABYC in safety (including ground fault and galvanic standards).
-15 % - ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Preferred Degree:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
3 years of experience in boat or yacht building
Microsoft Suite CAD literate:
Micro Station and Creo
Experienced trouble‑shooting electrical systems and Root Cause Analysis
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:N/A
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Regularly performs computer work and sits. Occasionally walks and stands. Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.
