Position Summary

D2 Government Solutions is seeking a qualified candidate for a Senior Accountant at our Corporate site in New Bern, North Carolina.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role requires advanced expertise in Quick Books.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for day‑to‑day accounting functions, support month‑end and year‑end close processes, and provide financial insights to leadership to support strategic decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements, budget reports, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory records.
  • Support leadership with financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 5‑7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Experience with government invoicing a plus.
  • Extensive, hands‑on experience with Quick Books (Desktop and/or Online), including advanced features and integrations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
