The Counter Sales role is a full-time, on-site position based in Havelock, NC. This role involves assisting customers at the sales counter by identifying and locating the correct auto parts and accessories, answering product questions, and providing recommendations based on customer needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing sales transactions, managing orders, checking inventory, and helping maintain a clean, organized sales area. The Counter Sales team member will also support phone inquiries, coordinate with warehouse and delivery staff, and participate in ongoing product and systems training to stay current on automotive parts and store policies.
Collaboration with colleagues to ensure prompt, accurate, and friendly service is essential.
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Sales and Sales Management capabilities to drive counter sales, support store goals, and contribute to upselling and cross-selling efforts.
- Training experience or willingness to participate in and provide training related to products, systems, and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts or a strong interest in learning about automotive products.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in New Bern, NC, including standing for extended periods and handling light to moderate lifting.
- Comfort using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications for inventory lookup and order entry.
- Reliable work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to providing non-discriminatory, inclusive service to all customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior retail, automotive, or counter sales experience is preferred but not required.
