Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician
Role Summary
Mechanic – Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a fleet of Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas related equipment. Work in a safety‑focused environment and support Sunbelt Rentals’ goal of equipment availability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical or electrical issues using troubleshooting skills.
- Repair or replace hydraulic and electrical systems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced work setting.
- High school diploma or GED (trade school or equivalent training desired).
- 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty lines equipment such as generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas units (preferably).
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Bilingual in Spanish or another language may be required based on location.
- Availability to work indoors/outdoors; ability to lift 50lbs or more.
Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50lbs or more; work required both indoors and outdoors.
