Project DescriptionWork includes, but is not limited to, repairs to the existing Marsh Walkway at Roanoke Island Festival Park. The project includes replacement of approximately 500 LF of existing boardwalk with new plastic lumber decking and new treated wood support framing, replacement of approximately 900 LF of existing decking with new plastic lumber decking and new stainless steel joist hangers, repairs to the existing floating dock including hardware, dock floats and decking, refurbishment of existing benches with new plastic lumber seating, and associated demolition and marine carpentry work.
Drawings also indicate selective replacement of framing, girders, pilings, curbs, and hardware in designated areas while other sections receive decking replacement only.
MBE/WBE/SBE/DBE/HUB participation is encouraged. Elements of the work may be combined or broken down to facilitate minority participation. Assistance with bonding or insurance requirements as well as quick pay arrangements are available to enable minority contractors to meet cash-flow demands.
