Mobile Crisis Worker On-Call
Responsible for providing all support, services, and treatments necessary to deliver integrated crisis response, crisis stabilization, interventions, and crisis prevention activities. Must evaluate, triage, and access acute mental health, developmental disabilities, or substance abuse services to reduce symptoms, promote harm reduction, and safely transition persons in acute crises to appropriate stabilization or detoxification services. Provides immediate telephonic responses to assess crises and determine risks, mental status, medical stability, and appropriate response.
Responsibilities- Assess individuals experiencing mental health, developmental disability, or substance abuse crises.
- Identify appropriate natural supports or community resources to stabilize crises.
- Ensure overall safety of client, family, and community.
- Network with community agencies for effective continuum of care.
- Maintain client files to meet Medicaid and agency standards.
- Complete all administrative documentation promptly and efficiently.
- Adhere to clinical policies, operating procedures, and documentation guidelines.
- Sign all required treatment record notes.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
On‑Call Mobile Crisis Workers will be scheduled at a minimum of one week (7–10 days) during evening and overnight hours, or two to three full weekends per month. Workers are compensated at on‑call rates for hours worked.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience- Minimum of one year of crisis intervention experience in assertive outreach, community treatment, emergency department, or similar 24/7 response settings.
- At least 20 hours of training in crisis intervention strategies within the first 90 days of employment.
- No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes.
- Valid driver’s license and basic auto insurance.
- Pass a criminal background check, MVR, and health‑care registry check.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and work with diverse populations.
- Minimum age 21 with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in a human service field with less than one year of full‑time, post‑graduate experience with the population served.
- Or bachelor’s degree in a human service field with less than two years of full‑time, post‑bachelor’s experience.
- Or bachelor’s degree in a non‑human‑services field with less than four years of full‑time, post‑bachelor’s experience.
- Or registered nurse licensed in North Carolina with less than four years of full‑time accumulated experience.
- All APs receive an individualized supervision plan from a qualified professional until they have met the required years of experience.
- Holder of a licensed, provisional license, certificate, registration, or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession (excluding registered nurses already meeting the criteria).
- Master’s degree in a human service field with at least one year of full‑time post‑graduate experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service field with at least two years of full‑time post‑bachelor’s experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a non‑human‑services field with at least four years of full‑time post‑bachelor’s experience.
- Full supervision plan is provided until the required experience is achieved.
