Harvest Logistics Planner

Description Are you passionate about optimizing transportation logistics and seeking a dynamic role in the forestry industry? We are looking for a dedicated Harvest Logistics Planner to join our Carolina-Virginia Region of the Southern Timberlands business. Based in New Bern, NC, you will report to the Region Transportation Manager and play a crucial role in identifying and implementing the most cost-effective methods to transport logs.

Schedule the transport of raw materials via contract haulers

Data tracking and retention

Maintain constant vigilance of the logger's needs, drivers' whereabouts, and the availability of trucks and truck drivers, which is essential to make the most efficient use of available trucks

Maintain daily communication with contract truck managers, drivers, wood flow managers, harvest managers, and marketing representatives

Work in a fast-paced environment to adjust schedules on the fly in order to meet system changes

Utilization of logistics computer software/model daily

Qualifications

Bachelors degree and 2+ years of logistics experience or Forestry experience

Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals

Proven commitment to safety with knowledge of safety processes

Ability and willingness to work both independently and as a team member

Ability to effectively communicate using telephone, office supplies and equipment

Basic understanding of GPS software

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Willingness and ability to adapt to frequent change, while multi-tasking in fast paced environment

General understanding of logging, trucking, and transportation activities

General knowledge of operating area and map reading

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to work a rotating day shift

Ability to work evenings, holidays and weekends as needed

Ability to operate a logistics planning system platform

What We Offer ...Compensation:
This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $58,830 - $88,245 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:
Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:
We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
