Summary: Material Attendants are responsible for safe, accurate, and timely material flow within New Bern. Material Attendants perform multiple functions in the warehouse so flexibility is important.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform standard processes that result in adherence to inventory accuracy levels to include and not limited to cycle count processes as required (Cycle Count).
- Stock material in warehouse location in accordance with the standard metrics (Put-Away).
- Deliver material throughout the facility in accordance with the standard metrics (Delivery).
- Follow standard procedure for unloaded and receipt of inbound materials in accordance with standard processes (Receiving).
- Prepare material for external shipment in accordance with standard processes (Shipping).
- Release and process orders to prepare material for delivery in accordance with the standards processes (Sortation/Queue Release).
- Perform the warehouse picking process for orders generated in accordance with the standard metrics (Picking).
- Successfully complete required training and certification on motorized and manual material handling equipment necessary to perform the duties of the material attendant role.
- Adhere to all safety rules regarding the operation of Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) outlined in the program and all warehouse processes outlined in the standard work.
- Participate in monthly safety program activities. Maintain housekeeping standards in the Warehouse.
- Actively participate in the warehouse team to include providing feedback during process development and continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge and ability to flex within all functions in the warehouse to ensure continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Communicate and perform effectively, both independently and in a team environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school degree or GED equivalent.
- Associate must meet all the minimum qualifications outlined on the job bid.
- Associate selected will receive the necessary training to perform the requirements of this position, to include processes and computer requirements.
- Associates must not have been removed from or voluntarily stepped down from a bid in the preceding 12 months.
- Associates can have no written disciplinary warnings within six (6) months of the posting date.
- Associates cannot have less than 17 UTO hours.
- A 90-day probationary period applies to all job postings.
